There is a great silence then: there is no wind in the trees and there is no living creature afoot of the place. There is nothing but the silence stretching on and on for eternity. And then, suddenly, there is a change. The city, pristine in its newness but foggy with the scent of decay, warps.

The heat in Market Park is unnatural but it is there all the same. As the people wake up, the bizarre emptiness of the place begins to subside.

Not everyone will wake up here, but some will.
